In the deep midwinter..

In the last few days we have watched the pristine beauty of an icestorm on Christmas Eve, followed by six inches of fresh powdery snow on Christmas morning.

And through the deep deep freeze life goes on. Our new granddaughter Ellie arrived today, 8lbs 3oz and a lot of black hair!

  1. SOrry. CRanky iPad cut me off mid-sentence after congratulating you on the new arrival. WE have had a sprinkling of snow overnight, a six hour power cut (problem with baby needing warm bottles), and Joanna’s boyfriend’s car not starting on departure.. CRisis ongoing.

  2. Lo how a rose…

Missed you in the northland where the snow was a little more and the freeze a little deeper. Jolly new year to all!

  3. Congratulations! Now you’ll have the problem (as we did) of a birthday falling on or about Christmas. My kids ‘solved’ the problem by have a mid-year birthday celebration when the kids were younger and felt they were being cheated (ah, the greed) by having their birthday and Christmas at the same time..
